How cited Ask works
Questions go through guardrails, retrieval, and a model that must ground answers in our library — then show you the sources.
When you Ask in the app, the phone never talks to a model directly. Your question hits our API with your account. We check intent and safety first — emergencies return immediately with guidance to seek care, and those replies are never cached.
Retrieve, then generate
For ordinary wellness questions we embed the question, search our guideline corpus (and related movement or yoga content when it fits), and only then ask the model to write an answer that stays faithful to those passages. Citations appear with the reply so you can open the source.
Why citations
Uncited chat is easy to ship and hard to trust. We’d rather show a shorter answer with links than a confident paragraph with nowhere to verify. Cache hits for near-duplicate questions still count against free-tier quota — the goal is lower cost, not unlimited free Ask.
On the web
The marketing site shows a static sample of what Ask looks like. Live Ask lives in the Arogya AI app after you sign in — same product rules as mobile, no anonymous API free-for-all.
